Cecilia – Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Jessie James Landry, 53, who passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his residence.

Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Rev. Paul Broussard conducted the funeral service. His godparents served as gift bearers.

Jessie was a carpenter by trade and an avid horseman who enjoyed riding horses in his free time. He loved building things and will be remembered by all who loved him and by his skill as a carpenter.

Survivors include parents, Percy J. and Eula Mae “Mae Mae” Hebert Landry of Cecilia; his godparents, Lyn Angelle and Diana Guilbeau LeBlanc, both of Cecilia; and two aunts, Stella Jean Broussard of Cecilia and Bernice “Bune” Alleman of Carencro.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ferland and Eva Guidry Hebert; and his paternal grandparents, Angelas and Aledia Castille Landry.

A rosary was recited at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Pallbearers were Lyn Angelle, Bill Angelle, William Schexnider, Harris Tauzin, Jeff Addison and Joe Alleman.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
