Grand Opera House announces 2015-2016 season series

The Grand Opera House has announced its 2015-2016 season series.
The tradition of opening with a Louisiana artist will continue with Marc Broussard performing on stage on September 11 at 7:30 p.m. The son of guitarist Ted Broussard, a member of Louisiana Hall of Fame, Marc was raised in Carencro and Lafayette. With a style described as “Bayou Soul,” his music combines funk, blues, rock and pop with distinctive Southern roots.
Prior to the show, there will be a complementary social beginning at 6 p.m.
The second show of the season will be on January 25, 2016, with the Malpass Brothers.
Christopher and Taylor Malpass play traditional country music. Their stated goal in playing this heartfelt music is “to see this music revived, to help ensure it doesn’t fade away. It is so encouraging to have young people come to our shows with a new interest in our ‘old music.’”
On February 25, 2016, Jaimee Paul will grace the Grand stage.
A back-up singer for such artists as Wynonna Judd and Kelly Clarkson, she was recently nominated for a Dove Award for her Christian CD “Hear My Prayer” as Best Inspirational Album. She is also noted as a fine jazz performer.
