Rayne Farmers Market Saturday

1st anniversary activities slated

A special celebration is being planned for the October Farmers Market.
The Oct. 8 event will mark the completion of the inaugural year of the Chamber of Commerce/City of Rayne-sponsored event.
“We’re celebrating with our vendors and the public by offering free tickets to shoppers to participate in gift drawings througout the market hours,” said Blaine Dupont, chairman.
The market will be open at the Frog Festival Pavilion from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., and winners of the drawing must be present to claim their prizes.
“A special Flag Retirement Ceremony by members of the Crowley VFW and a local Boys Scout Troop will be held at 9 a.m.” Dupont added. “If anyone has an American Flag they would like to retire, please bring it to the ceremony. Please bring the kids for this memorable and patriotic ceremony.”
The public is invited to watch this memorable and patriotic event.
As usual, there will be plenty of homemade and hand-crafted items for sale under the pavilion — and admission is free.
“We’ve been blessed in our first year with loyal vendors, wonderful shoppers from all over the area, and dedicated Chamber board members,” said Fran Bihm, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce. “We’re also grateful for the full cooperation of the City of Rayne administration in cosponsoring this event every month. Please join us for this anniversary event.”
