Rayne man injured in shooting in Lafayette; suspect remains at large

LAFAYETTE - A Rayne man was among three victims in a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown Lafayette.
Identified only as a 34-year-old male, the Rayne man reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
At press time Wednesday, police were still searching for the person who allegedly opened fire on Jefferson Street in downtown Lafayette.
Cpl. Paul Mouton said two of the victims, both in their early 20s, were released from the hospital Monday.
Mouton said police do not have any leads on a suspect and are asking anyone who might have witnessed the shooting or recorded it on their cell phones to come forward.
