RAYNE - Police are looking for a man who fired several shots into a local business Saturday afternoon.
Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly said officers responded to multiple calls just after 1 p.m. Saturday concerning a black male shooting at people at the King City convenience store on West Jeff Davis Avenue.
The shooter had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.
Investigators learned that multiple rounds had penetrated a nearby business that had been occupied by several customers and employees at the time. No one was struck by any of the shots, according to Stelly.
The Rayne Police Department has an on-going investigation into this incident, Stelly said. Anyone with any information is urged to call Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers at 789-TIPS /8477.
