Shooting victim dies; charges upgraded

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office announced two updates in regard to last week’s shooting at the Kathy Apartments.
First, the victim, identified as Ladracus Miller, 21, of Crowley, succumbed to his injuries over the weekend.
As a result, the arrested party in the case has seen his charges upgraded. Alex Senegal’s attempted second-degree murder charge was amended Tuesday to second-degree murder. Senegal remains in the Acadia Parish Jail.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating the shooting incident Thursday, Aug. 25, at 11:47 a.m.
Deputies arrested Senegal on Friday in connection with the shooting on charges of attempted second-degree murder.
Although one arrest has been made, detectives are asking individuals with any information to call Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS – 789-8477. All callers will remain anonymous and can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward.
