Harvey Henry Hebert Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 7, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Harvey Henry Hebert Sr., 94, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Hebert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Sierra Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church French Choir. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp, having served his country during World War II, and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Mr. Hebert is survived by his wife, Rita Frey Hebert of Iota; four sons, Harvey Henry Hebert Jr. of Iota, John Albert Hebert and wife Lucille of Crowley, Richard Wayne “Pee Wee” Hebert and wife Sandy of Iota, Ernest Michael Hebert and wife Claudette of Iota; step-children, Carmen Reed Sims and husband Dennis of Winnsboro, Nancy Reed Bourgeois and husband Marty of Church Point, Dean P. Reed of New Roads, Lynn Reed Broussard of Iowa, Kathy Reed of Africa and Copeland Reed of Church Point; one sister, Jeanette H. Fabacher of Iota; 36 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Ann O. Hebert; one son, James Patrick Hebert; one daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Hebert; his parents, Albert and Louisa Leger Hebert; two sisters, Effie Mae Carpenter and Beatrice Regan; three brothers, Clyde Hebert, Sr., Harold Hebert and Albert Lee Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Brett Hebert, Aaron Hebert, Eric Hebert, Kurt Regan, Blaise Sims and Luke Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
