Cotton Festival children’s pageant set for July 13

The Louisiana Cotton Festival Association’s Children’s Court Pageant will be held Sunday, July 13, at the Northside Civic Center.

The divisions and times are as follows:

King Cotton Boll and Queen Cotton Blossom (ages nine-12), 1 p.m.

King Cotton Seed and Queen Cotton Fiber (ages five-eight), 1:30 p.m.

King and Queen Cotton Cloth (ages two-four), 2:30 p.m.

King and Queen T-Cotton (ages walking-23 months), 3:30 p.m.

Children must meet age requirements by July 13. Registration is $25 per child. Deadline to enter is Friday, July 11. Late entries will be accepted with an additional $10 fee. No entries will be accepted the day of the pageant.

Pageant attire will be Sunday best. Pageant wear, excessive make-up and “big pageant hair” are not appropriate for this pageant. The judges are looking for royalty who are naturally pretty/handsome and have good personalities.

Contestants must live in or attend school in Evangeline Parish.

Members of the court will be required to participate in the Cotton Festival’s coronation and parade.
