Ford-LaCombe married in double ring ceremony

SCOTT - Renee Carolyn Ford of Lafayette and Joshua Wayne LaCombe of Lafayette were married on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7 p.m.

The double ring ceremony, held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, was officiated by Father Tom Voorhies.

Musical selections at ceremony were performed by soloist Susan Comeaux, organist Kevin Martin and trumpeter Joe Stemplewski.

Connie LaCombe, aunt of the groom, and Jackie Hebert, friend of the bride and groom, performed the scripture readings.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Randell C. Gaubert.

She walked down the aisle wearing a white Maggie Sottero “monalisa Royale” gown. The gown was a one-piece, corset, strapless, full A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The gown features regal embellished embroidery accented with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, glass beads and sequins. Embellishments ornament the bodice and center front skirt panel. The caught-up cutaway skirt is richly decorated with motifs that also accent the caught-up skirt back. The embellished chapel length train finishes the style.

Her dress was accented with a single-layered waist-length veil. The bride’s bouquet was a hand-held bouquet of white roses, Sahara roses, white mini calas and white hydrangeas.

Rachel C. McLaurin, sister of the bride, served as the bride’s matron of honor and Desirae Fontenot, best friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Joining them as bridal attendants were Bethany Kemp, sister of the bride; Gretchen Vanicor, cousin of the groom; Haylie LaCombe, sister-in-law of the groom; Krystal Dalfrey, friend of the bride; and Lindsey Thibodeaux, friend of the bride.

Bridal attendants wore a floor-length strapless latte satin ball gowns with pick-up skirt and champagne sash and latte bolero. The maid and matron of honor had truffle sash and bolero.

The attendants’ flowers were red freedom roses, black bacara roses, hocus pocus roses, safari sunsets, hypericom berries, celosia and seeded eucalyptus hand tied with chocolate ribbon.

The groom’s brother, Grayson LaCombe, served as the best man. Other groomsmen were Kyle LaCombe, brother of the groom; Dustin LaCombe, cousin of the groom; and David Vanicor, Lane Babin, Brandon Pellerin, and Jay Ray DeSilva, friends of the groom.

Ushers for the wedding were Bryan Gaubert, brother of the bride; and Leith Stoma and Kyle Richey, friends of the groom.

Flower girl, Paige Elizabeth Ford, wore a long, white satin spaghetti strap dress with a pick-up skirt. Accented with a truffle sash. She is the daughter of the bride. Lance Michael Lacombe, son of the bride and groom, served as ring bearer.

Mother of the bride, Barbara A. Schilling Gaubert, wore a mauve, floor-length dress, featuring an empire waist, lace overlay bodice and shantung silk skirt and a sheer lace jacket completed the ensemble.

Mother of the groom, Susan M. Trahan LaCombe, wore a chocolate floor length dress has a satin skirt and a lined stretch knit bodice with three-quarter-length sheer sleeves end with satin turn back cuffs.

The mothers had corsages of Sahara roses with co-ordinating seeded eucalyptus accented with chocolate ribbon.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at Sunny Meade in Scott.

The bride’s cake was a three-tiered square with a pearlized ivory background. The cake had accents of fresh flowers and was embellished with pearls, fleur-de-lis and lace.

The groom’s cake was a chocolate replica of a Louisiana Ragin Cajun ice chest, sitting in a camouflage hunting scene.

Guests traveled from Houston, Florida, Mississippi and Georgia.

The couple will reside in Lafayette following their wedding trip to the Bahamas.

On Thursday, September 23, a rehearsal dinner was held at Fezzo’s III in Scott at 7:30 p.m.

Renee is the daughter of Barbara Gaubert and the late Richard C. Gaubert, Sr. of Lafayette. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Schilling of Valmeyer, Ill. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Gaubert, Sr.

She is a 2002 graduate of Lafayette High School and is currently employed by Cenergy International working at Chevron ERTC.

Joshua is the son of Kenneth and Susan LaCombe of Egan. He is the grandson of Jake and Genevieve Trahan of Egan and Anna Mae LaCombe of Iota and the late Albert LaCombe, Jr.

He is a 2001 graduate of Iota High School and is currently employed by Danos and Curole as a production operator.
