Honey-do shower honors Venable, Daigle

A honey-do wedding shower honoring engaged couple McKenzie Venable of Crowley and Brandt Daigle of Lafayette.

The pre-nuptial event was held

on Friday, February 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the home of Robert and Karon Cook of Rayne.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Todd and Bridget Venable of Crowley, while the groom-to-be is the son of Glenn and Denise Daigle of Rayne.

Hosting the shower were Karon and Robert Cook, Lyn and Jim Petitjean, Daun and Quinten Marks, Donna and Darrel Melancon, Kerrie and Larry Mire, Monic and Ronald Helo and Faye and Louie Cook.

Guests attending enjoyed refreshments of brisket, tomato and basil soup, chicken salad sandwiches, hot crab and shrimp dip, assorted cheeses, fruit and beverages.

Decorations of the food table was a centerpiece of hearts and red birds, accompanied by similar decorations lined with greenery around the pool.

Approximately 50 guests attended, traveling from Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Rayne and Crowley.

The couple was scheduled to celebrate their nuptial vows on Saturday, Feb. 28, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Church Point.
