The Mamou Police Department’s investigations led to the arrest of several individuals on drug charges in the month of February.

February 11

Caleb Roberts, 17, 902 East St., Mamou, was arrested after a search of his residence turned up narcotics.

Detective Caleb Semien said Mamou Police received information from confidential informants regarding suspected narcotics activity at Roberts’ residence. Semien added police officers themselves observed some of this activity. A search warrant was secured for the residence, according to Semien, and officers executed the warrant on February 11.

When searching the home, officers located cocaine, marijuana and a firearm. Roberts was booked into the Mamou Jail on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a firearm.

February 23

Dustin Hamous, 24, 1008 Pecan St., Mamou, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.

Semien said officers observed Monday night, February 23, what they believed to be sexual activity. However, when officers approached the suspects, they discovered a narcotics transaction was taking place. Hamous was booked into the Mamou Jail.

February 27

Trulie Jagneaux, 19, 1096 Acadian Drive, Ville Platte, was charged with distribution of xanax.

Semien said an undercover operation was conducted in which an undercover narcotics purchase was arranged and completed. Once the transaction concluded, officers arrested Jagneaux.

She was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail.
