Jonathan and Katelyn Besse of Milton are announcing the birth of their first child, a daughter, Mia Harper Besse, born at 9:24 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Women and Children’s Hospital in Lafayette.

At birth, she weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length. 

Mrs. Besse is the former Katelyn E. Kelley, daughter of Shawn Kelley of Lafayette and Kristena Viator Kelley of Milton, maternal grandparents. 

Paternal grandparents are Peter and Dianne S. Besse of Scott.

Great-grandparents are Sheila Kelley and the late Steve Kelley of Lafayette, Janel Viator and the late Clifford Viator of Milton, the late Marion Stelly of Carencro, Dorothy P. Stelly of Scott, Joseph Besse and the late Lorena Besse of Scott.

Godparents are Kaleb Kelley of Milton and Lauren E. Dore’ of Crowley.
