Armstrong collects top awards at LASC State Convention

Students of the Armstrong Middle School Student Council recently attended the 2013-2014 Louisiana Association of Student Councils Convention Jan. 18-19 at Grace King High School in Metairie.

Students attending were Hailey Robinson, Zachary Broussard, Adrieanna Meche, Ariel Webster, Darian Thomas, Zoie Veillon, Kane Bergeron, Kyle Dupuis, Kylee Elkins and Hailey Matte.

Students participated in the following events: oratory, essay, poster and photography.

Armstrong’s Darian Thomas was named champion of the oratory contest for the entire state.

Club faculty sponsor Theresa Simoneaux was recognized as the 2014 Outstanding Middle School Student Council Advisor of the Year for the State of Louisiana.
