Ci et Ca Avec Belle

I’M BACK.....

Sorry that we missed getting our Avec into the paper last month, but had some complications that prevented us from doing so. We were doing just fine until a rug and my oxygen cord joined together and resulted in our taking a fall on our brick floor. Our angels were around us and we were so fortunate that we did not break any bones. However, we had a slight concussion, an injured shoulder and knee... but no broken bones, especially our hip which was only bruised.
Another blessing was that it was all on our left side so we had one good arm....my right one. We were told that we could not stay alone, so our wonderful children worked it out for us. Bo came and picked us up and we stayed 2 weeks with him, Deb and his dear children and grandchildren. Then Laura picked us up and we spent two weeks with her, Ed and their dear children and grandchildren. They spoiled us rotten!! and took such good care of us.
We loved being around the grandchildren and the great grandchildren, but was sorry that we could not do more with them. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and we thank God for giving us that gift.
We are back home and trying to stay here with only one arm. But, we are happy that we are on home health and see a nurse and are getting Physical Therapy for our shoulder. We are also getting the Meals on Wheels for our lunch every week day.
Since we cannot drive we are very fortunate that we have a wonderful and sweet lady to drive us when we need to get out for something. So, we feel that we are in great shape here and will be able to get stronger and regain the use of our arm.
Now we are praying that our mind begins to work better. We have had trouble thinking and remembering things. Of course that might be due to our old age!
We hope that you all will keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we progress during this time of recuperation You will be appreciated by us and we thank you in advance for everything.
UPDATE ON OUR
MOM’S SCHOLARSHIP....
We could not read and/or evaluate the applications for the Myrta Fair B. Scholarship given by the Rayne Acadian-Tribune each year since we were not able to do so. They were judged by other journalists who had the knowledge and experience to read them and rate them on their criteria. We were told that the applications were all so well done, that each could have been a winner, however only one could be selected. We thank these talented seniors for submitting such outstanding papers! Their participation is greatly appreciate and even if they were not selected as the chosen one, they had the experience of following instructions, organizing and creative writing. They are all super and will do well in their chosen future educational ventures.
We especially thank the counselors at Rayne High School and Notre Dame High School for their assistance in working with the students and their teachers for the applicants. We wish that we could be there to personally thank you all for the wonderful assistance that you provided for these students. You definitely had the interest of these talented young senior and made it possible for them to compete in this process. The parents, administration and faculty should be very proud of you and your concern and assistance to the participants and the extra effort that you made to assist the young students. We appreciate you and hope to see you sometime to personally say “thank you”!!
Later we were able to read the applications after the judging and was very impressed with the writing and the topics covered. They could work for a newspaper or other news source now! Our congratulations to you all! We know that we will be hearing great news regarding you all as you progress with your educational ventures. Thanks to you all. We know that our Mom would be very happy to see the quality of work submitted for the scholarship.

Until next time....Adios, Au Revoir and Auf Wiedersehen
