Attesti performance Tuesday night to benefit polio eradication

Award-winning Italian concert pianist Francesco Attesti will appear at The Grand Opera House of the South on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Not only will show-goers enjoy a virtuoso performance, but their attendance at the event will help to support efforts at polio eradication worldwide.

Tickets to the concert are $35, and all proceeds from the sales will go to the Rotary International Organization’s Polio Plus program.

Attesti, who was born in Cortona, Italy, in 1975, began playing the piano at age six and gave his first concert at age 11, playing a transcription of “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” by Bach. He is known as a leading interpreter of romantic and early 20th century repertoire.

The event begins at 7 p.m., and tickets may be purchased online at www.thegrandoperahouse.org/site.php or by calling The Grand at 337-785-0440.
