Sweet Dough Pie Festival this Sat. in Grand Coteau

 

The Second Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 in historic Grand Coteau.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church located at 174 Church Street in Grand Coteau.

The festival includes food from local restaurants, arts and crafts from over 50 vendors, blacksmith demonstrations, music and of course a sweet dough pie contest for both domestic and professional bakers.

All interested bakers are encouraged to enter.

A large variety of sweet dough pies will also be available for purchase. Covered tables and chairs will be available to relax and enjoy the food and music.

Throughout the day, free narrated tours will be offered of St. Charles Church and cemetery, St. Ignatius School and the Schools of the Sacred Heart. Please, no alcohol or pets.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation, a non-profit organization that issues grants to fund a variety of local improvements and scholarships.
