Iota High School Class of 1968 holds annual reunion

The Iota High School Class of 1968 held its annual reunion on Saturday, June 4, at Chef Roy’s in Rayne.
Because St. Francis High School in Iota closed its doors at the end of the 1967 school term and the students that would have graduate moved on to either Iota High School or Notre Dame High School, the Iota class of ’68 invited the Notre Dame class of ’68 to attend.
Joel Cart served as master of ceremonies for the evening’s events.
Belinda Sensat Corzine, class president, welcomed the attendees to a special performance by the “Crochet Family” band composed of class member Charlene Crochet Neal and her talented brothers Darrell, Roddy, Kim and Fred, who were accompanied by Roddy’s son Eric on keyboards.
The band began with selections of Southern gospel favorites, after which Darrell Crochet gave solo performances of George Strait and Merle Haggard songs, ending with an Elvis tune.
The evening was enjoyed by all.
