It’s Chili Cook-Off time!

Notre Dame sets Chili Cook-Off for Oct. 31, Dining Extravaganza for Nov. 12

 

Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish has announced that it will hold its ninth annual Chili Cook-Off on Thursday, Oct. 31.

All alumni classes, civic organizations, area business and school supporters are invited to participate by sponsoring teams and/or purchasing tickets. Awards will be presented in various categories and no entry fee is required.

This year, the event, which will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on the school’s campus immediately following the school’s homecoming parade, will be held in conjunction with the school’s first annual Trunk-or-Treat.

Honor classes for Homecoming 2013 will be the Classes of 1974, 1984, 1994 and 2004.

The school has also announced that it has set its eighth Grade Visitation Day for Tuesday, Nov. 5, and its annual Dining Extravaganza for Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Also known as Notre Dame Day, 8th Grade Visitation Day will be held on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eighth graders will have a chance to meet Notre Dame students, visit classes and be part of an introductory program.

All participants must be pre-registered. Students attending Our Lady Immaculate (Jennings), Our Mother of Peace (Church Point), Rayne Catholic Elementary (Rayne), Redemptorist Catholic (Crowley), St. Francis (Iota), St. Michael (Crowley) and St. Peter (Gueydan) are already pre-registered. Students attending any other school may register by calling Louisette Broussard in the Development Office or emailing her at lbroussard@notredamepios before Oct. 25. The school will be unable to accommodate walk-ins.

Parents will also have the opportunity to learn more about Notre Dame by attending a complimentary parent information dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The administration will present a short program and be available to answer questions. To register call the Development Office or email Louisette Broussard before Oct. 25.

Finally, Notre Dame will host its annual Dining Extravaganza on Nov. 12 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Grand Opera House of the South. Once again the event will feature live music, delectable food from some of Acadiana’s finest restaurants and both live and silent auctions.

A $100 donation will admit two people for dinner and drinks. A limited number of tickets will be available and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Tables of eight may be reserved in advance. For more information call 783-3519 or e-ail lbroussard@ndpios.com.
