St. Michael School Class of 1957 holds reunion

When invitations were sent out inviting the alumni of St. Michael School to be recognized on Tuesday, Dec. 8, for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass celebrated at the school gym, the graduating class of 1957 saw the opportunity for a reunion.
The impromptu gathering was organized on short notice by Faye Lalande Perry, who planned a noontime get-together and meal at the Rice Palace in Crowley.
After Mass and a short reception at the school, the alumni were invited to tour the newly renovated St. Michael Church with Fr. Mikel Polson.
The events of the day provided a unique opportunity for the class to celebrate the 58 years since graduation, and the gathering was filled with fellowship and reminiscing about school days.
Gerald Dill, who coached at the school when its football team won its first district championship in 1957, was a special guest.
Members of the 1957 class and their spouses who attended the reunion included Gregory and Pat Bollich, Carl and Mary Jo Zaunbrecher Foreman, George and Betty Lou Myers Girouard, Robert and Lou Duhon, Norris and Faye Lalande Perry, Anna Margaret Cramer Zaunbrecher, Bennett Guidry, Anna Lois Meyer Lormand, Beverly Broussard Hains and Mary Ann Leonards.
