Trahan/Primeaux descendants reunite

The descendants of Aspazie Trahan Primeaux and Henry Primeaux gathered in Crowley on Sunday, Aug. 18, for the first Trahan/Primeaux family reunion.

Family and friends were welcomed to the event by hostess Loynice Primeaux Trahan, the only living child of the 10 born to Aspazie and Henry.

The theme of the reunion was, “Remembering the Past and Building Memories for the Future”.

The hostess provided the family members on hand with old family photographs that she had collected over the years, setting the scene for old stories, good conversation and both laughter and tears.

Family members were able to reminisce about special events and to trace back three to four generations of history.

Guess enjoyed a full country dinner of pork roast and chicken and sausage gumbo with all the trimmings, as well as plenty of homemade desserts.

Attendees traveled from Arkansas, Mississippi and various points throughout Louisiana.

At the end of the day, the group decided to make the reunion an annual event, and another one is scheduled for next year.
