Rayne High graduation, class day set

Of the 142 graduates of Rayne High School who will receive their high school diplomas Saturday, May 23, at the 9:30 a.m. commencement in the school’s north gymnasium, 8 will graduate with a 4.0 grade point average, named “Highest Distinction” graduates.
Top graduates of the RHS class of 2015 include:
• Robyn Kira Batten, daughter of Shelley and Mitchell Batten;
• Caroline Ann Bergeron, daughter of Dawn and Frank Bergeron Jr.;
• Troy Michael Breaux, son of Kathryn and Michael Breaux;
• Kelcie Elizabeth Bourgeois, daughter of Kristi and Luke Bourgeois;
• Madison Angelle David, daughter of Sherrie and Patrick Todd David;
• Whitney Marie Fontenot, daughter of Ramona and Scott Fontenot;
• Mallory Kay Runner, daughter of Jeanette and Jeremy Runner; and
• Madison Vidal, daughter of Grady Arceneaux and John Vidal.
The eight top graduates maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout their high school careers. Each will receive the prestigious honor medallion during Class Day ceremonies which will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, in the north gym. At this time, graduates will receive scholarships, and awards by the school and social and civic organizations, in addition to school awards.
Attendance at Saturday’s commencement is by ticket only.
