Rayne High School graduates 142 seniors

Rayne High School graduated a total of 142 seniors during the 2015 commencement exercises at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, May 23, in the Rayne High north gym.
Highlight of the commencement ceremonies was the naming of Whitney Fontenot and Ivy Thibodeaux as Mr. and Miss RHS of 2015.
Also awarded during the morning commencement was the distinguished American Legion’s scholastic award from Arceneaux Post 77, Rayne. Receiving that honor were Robyn Batten and Troy Breaux presented by Post 77 Commander David Simon.
The valedictory address was delivered by each of the eight seniors completing their high school careers “With Highest Distinction” medals (4.0 GPA), including Robyn Batten, Caroline Bergeron, Kelcie Bourgeois, Troy Breaux, Madison David, Whitney Fontenot, Mallory Runner and Madison Vidal.
During Friday afternoon Class Day Awards Program, students completing their high school studies with a GPA of 3.6-3.9 were presented gold honor cords. Those awarded were Imari Jackson 3.9667, Ivy Thibodeaux 3.9630, Brice Meche 3.9245, Tanner Wilson 3.9231, Hunter Keely 3.8846, Beau Daigle 3.8000, Angel Chapman 3.7667, Cecily Schexnyder 3.7407, Nicholas Dore 3.7308, Brennan Pepper 3.6129, Megan Marcantel 3.6071 and John Besse 3.6000.
Students completing their high school studies with a GPA of 3.2-3.599 were presented white honor cords. Those awarded were McKenzie Meche 3.4828, Sarah Doucet 3.4706, Nashawn Sinegal 3.4444, Nicholas Guidry 3.4167, Alexis Monroe 3.4000, Jasmine Shaw 3.3962, Alexis Seaux 3.3871, Tanner Leger 3.3214, Dustin Dupuis 3.3200 and Riley Guidry 3.3077.
