RHS homecoming queen to be crowned

One of the 10 lovely young ladies selected to the Rayne High School Homecoming Court will be named the 2015 Homecoming Queen on Friday during halftime ceremonies of the Rayne High Homecoming football game against Breaux Bridge.
Following introductions, the new Homecoming Queen will be crowned by last year’s honoree, Tanner Wilson.
The group of 10 seniors honored as members of this year’s Homecoming Court are Clare Alleman, daughter of Blake and Kelli Alleman; Layni Katherine Boudreaux, daughter of Ricky and Madelene Boudreaux; Hailey Kimble Doucet, daughter of Mark and Stacie Doucet; Hannah Kimble Doucet, daughter of Mark and Stacie Doucet; Emily Clare DuPont, daughter of Steve and Jeanne DuPont; Whitley Zhane’ Larry, daughter of Willie and Zona Larry; Morgan Michelle Menard, daughter of Michael and Rhonda Menard; Charlyne Mare’ Peltier, daughter of Wayne and Patricia Peltier; Erykah O’Shae Price, daughter of Wendell Price Sr. and Ingrid Jolivette; and Victoria Blase Richard, daughter of Sean and Holly Richard.
A number of events have already been enjoyed by students, faculty and alumni during Homecoming Week, with plenty more to come.
During ceremonies last Tuesday, Mayor Chuck Robichaux signed the official proclamation declaring this week, Sept. 14-18, “Rayne High School Homecoming Week” in the City of Rayne. The Homecoming Court was then officially introduced.
Graduates of classes ending in “5” will be honored during a number of events and programs, including today’s Homecoming Parade. The event invites all RHS classes and alumni to participate in the 6 p.m. special Homecoming event. The parade will follow its usual route from Central Kindergarten and ending at Rayne High School where the annual Powder Puff Game and community-wide pep rally will be held.
Also invited to participate in this year’s parade are all Rayne High former students who will join the Homecoming Court and other entries. All parade participants are needed in place and lined up by 5:30 p.m. at Central Kindergarten and ready for the 6 p.m. start.
Friday is also filled with a number of Homecoming events, including: annual Alumni Reception at 10 a.m. in school library; Pep Rally at 2 p.m. in north gym; Homecoming Court introductions at 6 p.m. prior to football game at Wolf Stadium; Homecoming Game at 7 p.m. against Breaux Bridge High School, with halftime introduction of the Homecoming Court and crowning of the new 2015 Homecoming Queen.
