Arrest made in Monday homicide

Gibson: ‘Seeking 1 or 2 unidentified suspects’

Crowley Chief of Police KP Gibson reports that investigators with the Crowley Police Department have made an arrest regarding Monday’s homicide which occurred in the 1400 block of West Northern Avenue. 

“Members of our department, which includes patrol and investigations, have worked diligently to solve the shooting death of Ryan Gums. Though this investigation is far from over, investigators have made an arrest last evening of Shedrick Robinson, 22, of Crowley,” stated Gibson. 

Robinson was charged with one count of second-degree murder. He was booked Monday evening into the Acadia Parish Jail on a $1 million bond set by Judge John Trahan. 

“We are still working to verify the motive in this case. Our investigators have a long road ahead of them as we are seeking one or two other unidentified suspects who are believed to be involved in this senseless murder,” stated Gibson. 

He added that more information will be released by his office as it becomes available throughout the ongoing investigation.
