Incident leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

Authorities are looking for a 25-year-old Crowley man who is being charged with second-degree murder following an incident that was reported shortly before midnight Tuesday.

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, his office responded to a complaint that a male subject ran over a female at the Meadows Apartment Complex near Crowley. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned that following an exchange of words between several subjects a fight ensued, and upon trying to leave the scene, Landricy Robinson, 25, of the 400 block of Josey Street, Crowley ran over Antoinette Rochon, 16, of Rayne with his vehicle.

The 16-year-old victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance to American General Hospital where she was pronounced dead as the result of her injuries. Deputies also advised that two bystanders were also struck by the vehicle and were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening at Acadia General Hospital.

Robinson is being charged with the second-degree murder of Rochon. He is also being charged with the attempted second-degree murder of 20-year-old Antonio Rochon and 16-year-old Mariah Ozone. All three victims were from Rayne.
