Rayne makes arrest in escapee case

The Rayne Police Department arrested Marcie Walsh, 30, Monday, Jan. 27, for one count of assisting escape.

Police Chief Carroll Stelly said Walsh is one of two individuals who assisted in the escape of Leroy Begnaud last week. Stelly added that more arrests are anticipated in this case.

Stelly said Walsh was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force’s Lafayette Division on a warrant obtained by the Rayne Police Department.
