In six days, the extravaganza known as “Dancing With the Stars, in a Caring Way” will once again take over the Grand Opera House of the South with many surprises in store.

But, the event’s chairs are starting to let some of the secrets out of the bag ahead of the big weekend.

The first surprise being announced is a special performance by some of the 2013 Acadiana dancing stars to open the show with a dance routine. The routine is being choreographed by Brittanie Scroggs.

Scroggs is back for another round of “Dancing with the Stars, in a Caring Way.” This year, she is sharing her talents as head choreographer of the “season one” alumni performance.

Scroggs is a recent graduate of the University of Louisiana  at Lafayette where she received two bachelor’s degrees in business administration and performing arts. Her extensive dance training includes the American Ballet Theatre, Ohio Dance Theatre, the Louisville Ballet and The Ballet Studio of Lafayette. After graduation, she spent a year in New York City exploring all dance genres.

She is currently a faculty member of Core Dance Center in Crowley.
