City officials to take oaths Dec. 29

Incoming elected city officials for the City of Rayne will take their oaths of office in ceremonies on Monday, Dec. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Rayne Civic Center Ballroom.
City Judge Jim Cunningham will administer oaths to Charles "Chuck" Robichaux as the city's new mayor, city council members Curtrese Minix, District 1; Kenneth Guidry, District 2;  Calise Michael Doucet, District 3; Jimmy Fontenot, District 4; and Lendell “Pete” Babineaux, alderman-at-large.
Judge Cunningham will also administer the oaths of office to returning Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly and City Marshal Alex “Joe” LaCroix.
Judge Cunningham, who was unopposed for re-election as city judge, repeated his oath last week.
