Crowley man dies in single-vehicle crash

A single vehicle crash on Interstate 10, west of Crowley, has claimed the life of a Crowley man.

Saturday night, at 6:22 p.m., 26-year-old Kori Sarver of Crowley was driving1999 Ford Mustang eastbound on I-10. For reasons still under investigation, Sarver’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned. Sarver, who was wearing a seatbelt, died as a result of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner.

A passenger in Sarver’s vehicle, 24-year-old Michael Adams of Crowley, was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

It is unknown if Sarver was impaired when the crash occurred. Routine toxicology samples have been obtained and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis. 
This crash remains under investigation.

Impairment remains a leading factor in fatal crashes across Acadiana. Motorists are reminded that the first thing alcohol affects is judgment. Drivers should make a plan prior to drinking to have a sober designated driver for their ride home. Troopers across Acadiana will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to combat drunk driving. Drive sober or get pulled over.
