During half time of the Bulldogs’ football contest Friday, Sept. 25, the queen will be crowned. Iota Homecoming: Bulldogs to crown new queen

A week of fun days – dress-up and activity – is under way at Iota High this week for Homecoming.
The 2015 Homecoming dress-up days include pajama day, school spirit day and “Turn Back Tuesday, among others. Activities include a sack race, obstacle course and much more.
Reigning over the week will be the 2015 Homecoming Court. Members of the 2015 Iota Homecoming Court include the following.
• McKinsey Laine Abshire, daughter of Hilary and Brandon Hebert.
Abshire has been a member of the Renaissance Club for four years, Drama Club for two years and Beta Club for three years. She has served as vice president for her class the last four years and has been a member of the IHS Fashion Show for four years.
She was a member of the Lady Dogs tennis team for two years and has been a varsity cheerleader for four years, currently serving as co-captain.
After graduation, she plans on attending Aveda Institute for cosmetology in Lafayette.
• Cameron Blaire Crochet, daughter of Shawnee and Kennon Crochet.
Crochet has been a member of the Renaissance Club for one year, Beta Club for three years and Student Council for four years and is the current secretary. Crochet has been a member of the Lady Dogs’ basketball and softball teams for the last four years.
She has received many honors in softball including first team All-District utility player her freshman and sophomore year. In her junior year, she was chosen as a first team All-District pitcher, Louisiana Coach’s All-State pitcher and was selected as an All-Parish and sportswriters’ All-State softball player.
She is an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota.
After graduation, she plans on attending Louisiana College, majoring in kinesiology and playing softball for the Lady Wildcats.
• Dinah Lee Doucet, daughter of Atlanta and Daniel Doucet.
Doucet has been a member of Drama Club for one year, FBLA for one year, Renaissance Club for three years, Beta Club for three years, 4-H for four years and Student Council for four years.
She has been a member of Michelle’s Studio of Dance for 15 years and has participated in their competition team for eight years. She has been a teacher at the dance studio for the last four years.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. After graduation, she plans on attending LSU Eunice for two years and then transferring to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to pursue her doctorate in psychology.
• Jenna Renee Dupre, daughter of Floyd and Michelle Dupre.
She has been a member of Drama Club for one year, Lady Dogs basketball team for one year and Beta Club for three years.
In the spring of her junior year, Dupre participated in the Acadia Parish Choices Program against drinking and driving.
She is an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota and is currently teaching kindergarten CCD in Iota.
Dupre will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors program. Upon graduation, she plans on attending LSU Eunice for two years and then transferring to UL, majoring in nursing.
• Emily Taylor Hillman, daughter of Chance and Pam Hillman.
Hillman has been a member of the Beta Club for three years, Student Council for four years and Renaissance Club for four years. She has been a member of the IHS Golden Girl dance team for the last four years.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High honors program. After graduation, Emily plans on attending LSU Eunice and then transferring to McNeese State University for pharmaceutical sales.
• Ashley Istre, daughter of James and Rachal Istre.
She has been a member of the 4-H Club for one year, Beta Club for three years, Drama Club for three years, Student Council for four years and the Renaissance Club for four years. She was a member of the Lady Dogs tennis team for three years and has served as class secretary for one year.
Istre has been a varsity cheerleader for four years and is currently serving as co-captain.
She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. Upon graduation, she plans on attending UL to major in accounting.
• Cecelia Camille “Lily” LeDoux, daughter of Jude LeDoux.
LeDoux has been a member of the Drama Club for two years, FBLA for two years and the Beta Club for three years. She has been serving as manager for the Lady Dogs’ basketball and softball teams.
She is an active parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High honors Program. After graduation, LeDoux plans on attending Louisiana State University to pursue a major in biological science.
• Kennedy Jayde Sloane, daughter of Gretchen Sloane.
She has been a member of Drama Club for one year, Student Council for four years and is the current reporter and the Renaissance Club for four years. Sloane has also been a member of the IHS Talent Show crew for two years and has served as class president for the last two years.
She has been a member of the IHS Golden Girl dance team is serving as their current captain.
She has participated in the organization of a shoe drive for Cameron’s Kids and has worked as a life guard at the Jennings Golf and Country Club. Sloaneparticipated in the 2013 Super Bowl half-time show for a local dance school and volunteers her time at the Main Street Dance Company in Jennings.
After graduation, she plans on attending the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology in Lafayette and then plans to pursue a degree in business administration and hopes to one day own her own salon.
• Kaitlyn Morgan “Katie” Stagg, daughter of Connie and Kent Stagg.
Stagg has been a member of the Renaissance Club for two years, Drama Club for two years and Beta Club for three years. She has been a member of the Lady Dogs tennis team for two years and has served as class treasurer for one year.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. Upon graduation, she plans on attending McNeese State University working towards a degree in radiology.
• Katelyn Marie Stephens, daughter of Andy and Cherie Stephens. Katelyn Stephens is sharing this honor with her twin sister.
She has been a member of the Drama Club for one year, Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years and Beta Club for three years. Katelyn Stephens has been a member of the Iota Lady Dogs volleyball and softball teams for four years.
She is an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice and is currently teaching seventh grade CCD.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. After graduation, Katelyn Stephens plans on attending Manhattenville College in New York majoring in biology and furthering her softball career and then continuing on to medical school.
• Rhianna Gail Stephens, daughter of Andy and Cherie Stephens. She is sharing this honor with her twin sister.
She has been a member of the Drama Club for two years, Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years and Beta Club for three years. Rhianna Stephens has been a member of the Iota Lady Dogs volleyball and softball teams for four years.
She is an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice and is currently teaching seventh grade CCD.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. After graduation, Rhianna plans on attending Manhattenville College in New York majoring in biology and furthering her softball and volleyball careers and then continuing on to medical school to become a surgeon.
• Meghan Brooke Youngblood, daughter of Josh and Marcell Youngblood.
She has been a member of the Drama Club for two years, Renaissance Club for four years and Student Council for four years and is the current vice president.
Youngblood served as a class officer for two years and also a member of the Lady Dogs tennis team for two years. She has been a varsity cheerleader for four years and is currently serving as their captain.
In the spring of her junior year, she participated in the Acadia Parish Choices Program against drinking and driving.
She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program and plans on attending LSU Eunice majoring in business after graduation.
