Rayne High graduation, class day set this week

Of the 138 graduates of Rayne High School who will receive their high school diplomas Saturday, May 21, at the 9:30 a.m. commencement in the school’s north gymnasium, seven will graduate with a 4.0 grade point average, named “Highest Distinction” graduates.
Top graduates of the RHS class of 2016 include:
•-Hannah Barron, daughter of Don and Angel Barron;
•-Alyson Dupuis, daughter of Ray and Josette Dupuis;
•-Whitley Larry, daughter of Willie and Zona Larry;
•-Briley Leon, daughter of Trudi Lopez and David Leon;
•-Zachary Miller, son of Barry and Tracy Miller;
•-Charlyne Peltier, daughter of Wayne and Patricia Peltier;
•-Victoria Richard, daughter of Sean and Holly Richard.
The seven graduates maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout their high school careers. Each will receive the prestigious honor medallion during Class Day ceremonies which will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, in the north gym. At this time, graduates will receive scholarships, and awards by the school and social and civic organizations, in addition to school awards.
Attendance at Saturday’s commencement is by ticket only.
