Edwards campaign hires new manager

Former governor Edwin Edwards announced Saturday that Ari Krupkin has joined his team as campaign manager.

Krupkin returns home to Louisiana with a background in national politics, having served as advance staff for Obama-Biden 2012 and the Office of the Vice President of the United States, and as transportation manager for the 2012 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Krupkin has also consulted on national campaigns for the Service Employees International Union, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the National Action Network and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“I’m campaigning for the next generation of Louisianans and Ari is a big part of that,” said Edwards. “He has the talent and tenacity to help me bring my message to all parts of our district.”

Krupkin was born and reared in the 6th District, and is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the Louisiana State University Laboratory School.

As a college student, Krupkin served as head legislative page in the Louisiana Senate and started his own successful small business.

“I can think of nothing better than coming home to work on this campaign. This is where I can make a difference,” said Krupkin. “Louisiana knows Governor Edwards is our guy and I’m proud to work for him.”

Edwards is running to represent the 6th District of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives. As a former Congressman and four-term governor, Edwards has the experience and proven ability to reach across party lines for common sense solutions that will benefit the people of Louisiana.

Edwards founded the $1.2 billion Louisiana Education Quality Trust Fund and is dedicated to improving the quality and accessibility of education for rural and urban communities.

On his return to Congress, Edwards will fight to expand Medicaid, providing coverage to more than 300,000 children, seniors on fixed incomes, and underpaid workers, while creating over 15,000 jobs in the medical community at no initial cost to state taxpayers.

He will also pursue transportation infrastructure improvements to alleviate traffic along the New Orleans to Baton Rouge corridor, support an ambitious program to restore our eroding coastline, and advocate staunchly for Louisiana’s farming and petro-chemical industries.
