Jindal makes it a baker’s dozen

With announcement, GOP field sits at 13

After what seemed like an eternity of speculation, Bobby Jindal announced Wednesday afternoon he will be seeking the office of United States president.
Through what appears to be home surveillance video released on BobbyJindal.com, Jindal and his wife, Supriya, tell the Jindal children about his intentions.
“My name is Bobby Jindal, and I am running for President of the United States of America. There were three people I think you would agree my wife Supriya and I had to tell first,” the website reads ahead of the video.
In the video, Jindal tells his children that the family will seek the office of president, drawing affirmation from his children.
It was actually the first of a set of videos where the Jindals continue talking about things including Selia Jindal’s desire for a puppy, turtles and potential White House perks, though some of those videos are at eye level.
The two-term Louisiana governor was once seen as the Republican’s party rising star.
The field for the Republican nominee for president continues to grow by the day. There are already 12 other major Republican candidates in the race and several more are expected to enter soon.
Jindal will have a large mountain to climb if he is to get the nomination. He is currently polling behind nearly all of them, with several polls recently showing Jindal at just 1 percent support among GOP voters – either in last place or tied for last.
In fact, in the most recent Fox News poll, Jindal wasn’t just behind all the other candidates, he was also behind “None of the Above,” which got 2 percent.
The announcement by Jindal makes him the first Indian-American to ever be a serious candidate for president
The governor’s official announcement was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Kenner.
