Suzanne Zaunbrecher Duncan

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Suzanne Zaunbrecher Duncan, 77, who died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at 5:11 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was a very devoted, dedicated and caring wife, mother, grandmother and true friend to those who she crossed paths with in her lifetime.

Fr. Mark Miley, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Rodless Leleux. Burial will be in Maxie Cemetery.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by one daughter, Mona D. Venable and her husband Johnny of Crowley; one son, Shea Duncan and his wife Kathy of Crowley; four grandchildren, Bryant James Venable, Brady Venable, Kathryn Shea Duncan and Sybil Lorraine Duncan all of Crowley; two sisters, Stella Z. Doucet of Houma and Louise Z. Caffery of Crowley; two brothers, Jim Zaunbrecher and Leonard “Doc” Zaunbrecher both of Crowley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. “Boochie” Duncan; her parents, Henry and Annie Bollich Zaunbrecher; two sisters, Lorraine Z. Gordon and Vera Z. Jabusch; two brothers, Leroy and Dennis Zaunbrecher.

Pallbearers will be Bryant Venable, Brady Venable, Tommy McNeely, Johnny Wales, Wendell Zaunbrecher and Bill Malmay. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Zaunbrecher, Leonard “Doc” Zaunbrecher, John “Chief” Andrus, John Breaux, Brett Stefanski, Robert Kahn and Gilles Piron.
