RHS Wolves, Ladies attend holiday tournaments

The Lady Wolves added three additional wins to their productive 2015-2016 basketball season over the holiday break as they attended the Northwest Invitational Tournament.
Rayne began their three-game winning streak of the tournament with a 80-16 win over Opelousas.
The Lady Wolves opened a distant 29-2 first quarter lead and never looked back for the dominating win.
For the win, Rayne’s Charlesha Dugas led all scorers with 26 points, along with three steals, one block and two rebounds.
Teammate Keysuana Moore dumped in 17 points helping with the win.
Tajane Butler added 11 points for Rayne, while Whitley Larry had eight points, six blocks and four rebounds.
In their second win of the tournament, the Lady Wolves scored a 54-49 over Scotlandville Magnet.
Dugas led scores again with 27 points, along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Larry and Amari Collins each donated eight points for the win, with Larry also posting three blocks and 10 rebounds.
In their final game of the tournament, the Lady Wolves claimed a low-scoring win over Ville Platte.
Following a 25-18 halftime lead, the Lady Wolves pulled ahead to stay with a 12-0 last quarter for the 46-31 win.
Rayne was led on the scoreboard by Charlesha Dugas with 28 points. She also donated 11 steals off a solid Rayne press, and seven rebounds.
Whitley Larry hit double digits with 11 points while helping inside with 10 rebounds and three blocks.
Keysuana Moore dumped in five points for the Lady Wolves, while Tiesha Young added a bucket and three steals.
The Lady Wolves are slated to host LaGrange Friday evening when they begin district play, followed by a Tuesday road trip to Leesville.

During the Christmas break, the Wolves attended the North Vermilion Holiday Invitational where they finished the three-day tournament at 1-2.
In their opening  contest the Wolves fell short against Berwick, 36-32.
The Wolves were led in scoring by Dontray Leopaul with 10 points, Braylin Bonnom and Darian Harmon each with eight, and Darian Harmon with seven.
In their second game of the tournament, the Wolves fell to St. Louis Catholic, 60-33.
Braylin Bonnom led Rayne scoring with a dozen points, followed by Dontray Leopaul with nine.
In their third and final contest of the tournament Rayne claimed a 46-37 win over Notre Dame High School. The Pios kept the game tight until the final quarter when the Wolves dumped in 20 points for the win.
The Wolves are slated to host Abbeville High during Friday evening action, followed by another home game on Tuesday, Jan. 12, when they face St. Martinville. District action for the Wolves is scheduled to begin on Friday, Jan. 15 during a home contest against DeRidder.
