‘It’s finally a girl’ baby shower given

The Knights of Columbus Hall in Rayne served as the setting on Sunday, March 21, 2010 for a baby shower held in honor of Mrs. Mercedes Francis, the former Mercedes Mouton of Rayne.

The honoree and her husband, Sgt. Brian Francis, reside at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Maternal grandparents are Randy and Ann Mouton of Rayne.

Paternal grandparents include Javida Francis of Lafayette and Ricky and Linda Babineaux of Houston.

Hosting the afternoon social were Tiffany Simon, Krystle Logan and Anna Mouton.

A butterfly theme was noted throughout the KC Hall in anticipation of the couple’s first daughter. Waiting to welcome their new sister are four brothers, Mar’Quon, Brian Jr., Cameron and Brialon.

Guests were served a variety of fingerfoods, beverages and cake.

For the special event, the honoree wore a grey and pink dress featuring a V-neckline and three quarter length sleeves. She was presented a pink butterfly corsage.

Approximately 30 family members and guests were in attendance for the courtesy.

The new family member is expected to arrive on June 1, 2010.
