Adrienne dela Houssaye weds David Allen Barras

Adrienne Aimie dela Houssaye and David Allen Barras exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at The Carriage House in River Ranch, Lafayette. District Judge Glennon P. Everett officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. dela Houssaye of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Lucille M. McGraw of Rayne and Mrs. Frances de la Houssaye and the late Mr. D.A. de la Houssaye of Crowley. She is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is currently the Community Relations Coordinator for Meadow Brook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.

The groom is the son of Steven A. Barras and the late Mrs. Ann S. Barras. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Suarez of New Iberia and Mrs. Florence Barras of New Iberia. He is a graduate of Catholic High School of New Iberia and is the current owner of D & B Boat Rentals, which operates offshore supply vessels. He is also in charge of sales, marketing and vessel sourcing at Bordelon Marine, Inc.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Casablanca gown of ivory satin in a mermaid silhouette. Scalloped French lace, accented with gold thread and beaded with sequins and pearls, decorated the halter neckline and bodice. A gathered satin sash defined the natural waistline while alternating satin and beaded buttons gave detail to the back bodice and sweep train. To complete her ensemble, the bride wore a single layer veil of imported illusion trimmed with a ribbon edge. She carried a bouquet of hand-tied, white Akito roses with her late grandmother’s rosary intertwined within.

Matron of honor was Jaime Suhrhoff Woodring. Bridesmaids were Brittany Olivia Viator and Stephanie Hulin O’Pry. Flower girl was Madison Menard, niece of he groom.

Serving as best man was Ross Woodring. Groomsmen were Mark Barras and Rick Barras. Ring bearer was Noah Barras, nephew of the groom.

Ushering guests were William de la Houssaye, II and Nicholas de la Houssaye.

Readers for the ceremony were Julia Luciano de la Houssaye and Katie Barras.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The City Club in River Ranch, Lafayette.

Following a wedding trip in Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Lafayette.
