Rayne High Homecoming Week proclaimed

The court has been selected, plans are complete, and alumni of Rayne High will return to alma mater next week for the annual Homecoming programs and activities.

During ceremonies Tuesday morning, Mayor Roland Boudreaux signed the official proclamation declaring Oct. 7-11 “Rayne High School Homecoming Week.”

Graduates of classes ending in “3” will be honored during a number of events and programs, especially Homecoming Day events which will be dedicated to these former students.

In addition to the numerous activities and programs planned at school to be enjoyed by the student body throughout the week, community activities will begin Thursday, Oct. 10, when the annual Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. beginning at Central Kindergarten and ending at Rayne High where the Annual Powder Puff Football Game will begin at 7 p.m. following the community pep rally.

Friday’s schedule of events includes: Alumni Reception at 10 a.m. in school library; Pep Rally at 2 p.m. in north gym; Homecoming Court introductions at 6 p.m. prior to football game at stadium; Homecoming Game at 7 p.m. against Morgan City High School; halftime introduction of Homecoming Court and crowning of 2013 Homecoming Queen.

The group of 11 seniors honored on this year’s Homecoming Court are Allison Kate Arceneaux, daughter of Troy and Tricia Arceneaux; Taylor Michelle Arceneaux, daughter of DeWayne and Michelle Arceneaux; Tori Nichole Marie Carriere, daughter of Tommy and Tammy Carriere; Haley Marie Comeaux, daughter of Chris and Eva Comeaux; Sidney René Fontenot, daughter of Mona and Scott Fontenot; Mia Catherine Guidry, daughter of Danny Guidry and Pam Guidry; Whitney Madison Johnston, daughter of Chad and Kristi Ramsey; Katelyn Paige LeDoux, daughter of David and Delilah LeDoux; Claire Ann Menard, daughter of James and Lisa Menard; Mary Wayne Peltier, daughter of Wayne and Patricia Peltier; and Kaitlyn Anne Thibodeaux, daughter of Tiffany and Robert Gossen and Tyler Thibodeaux.
