Fifth annual West Crowley Community Churches’ Day

At the present time, they represent seven churches in the West Crowley Community. The accompanying churches include Bethel CME, Rev. George R. Chretian; Greater Mt. Zion Baptist (Ambassador Ministries), Rev. Keith N. Matthews; Israelite Baptist, Rev. Ivan J. Lewis; Jerusalem Baptist, Rev. Christopher J. Arvie; Morning Star Missionary Baptist, Rev. Donald R. Burnette, Sr.; St. Joseph Baptist, Rev. Calvin J. Moore, and St. Theresa Catholic Church, Father Emmanuel E. Etim.

At this time that Laurita Pete presented a proclamation signed by Mayor Greg Jones to CCT, proclaiming the tenth day of May as Churches Coming Together Day in the city of Crowley, and to encourage all citizens to participate in this observance.

At this event, several members were recognized for their hard work towards making this event a success. Rev. Ivan J. Lewis acknowledged Sheral L Garrick in appreciation for her dedication and hard work, going beyond the call of duty, and for her contribution to the advancement of Churches Coming Together. Other members recognized were Danielle V. Damon, LaVera P. George, Beverly Garrick, Lynn Bates, Brenda Broussard, DeBira Broussard, Vera Davis, Dora Johnson, Temyka Minix, Percy Minix, Cynthia Robinson, Rene Robinson, Lula Sanderford, Dennis Smith, Wittie Wilridge, and Jessie Wilson. A candle was also lit in memory of Ella Green-Guillory.

This year’s awards were presented to individuals and businesses that have made outstanding contributions to Churches Coming Together.

Crowley businessman, Peter John, was presented an award by chairperson Rev. Ivan J. Lewis in appreciation of LaPac’s five years of continued monetary support to Churches Coming Together.

The City of Crowley award was represented by Laurita Pete on behalf of Mayor Greg Jones by Sheral Garrick, co-chairperson, in appreciation of its five years of continued support to CCT.

Great appreciation and thanks was given to many other sponsors/clubs who were recognized for their support and donations throughout the years.
