Henderson Fishing Report

Fishing in Henderson is getting much better, even with the high water. At least the wind is dying down and makes it a little bit easier to fish.

The bream are starting to bite much better on crickets and worms and some tube jigs, blue/chartreuse and black/chartreuse. Fish deep in the trees on the mounds in the Phillips Canal and in the front by the private landings about three feet deep.

The sac-a-lait are starting also in the North Flats, Butte La Rose Canal and in the Bar Pits. Fish about four feet deep around the mounds with cypress trees, and use red/olive/chartreuse or black/chartreuse or brown/chartreuse. Shiners are working also.

Bass fishing is fair around the willow mounds and Atoytoy. Pitch that jig under the trees and on the mounds. Spinnerbaits, white/chartreuse or all white or all chartreuse, are working 100. Some soft plastic are being used with success. Try watermelon red and or Junebug.

Bayou Amy and Lake Martin are doing well also. On the river, Cow Island is producing bream.
