Acadia Players to offer fun week of June 16
This summer, the Acadia Players are trying something new, and they are offering a number of different activities during the week of June 16 at the Acadia Parish Center for Arts and Culture (APCAC) in Crowley.
• “Find the Poet in You” – This five-session poetry workshop instructed by Patty Ronkartz will meet Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Friday session will end with a poetry reading and reception.
The cost of the workshop is $25 and includes a coptyof the class anthology that will be produced during the week. Ages 8 to adult are welcome.
• “Simply Black & White” – A black and white art workshop, this event will be held Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. An exhibit and reception will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
Patty Ronkartz will be the instructor for the workshop, which will cost $15 and is intended for ages 8 to adult.
• “Get Moving Fun Day” – To be held Saturday, June 21, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., this event will consist of sessions in yoga, jazz, hip-hop and baton for all ages (children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult).
The instructors for these sessions are Beth Goins and Ashley Turner, and the cost is only $5 per person.
Fees for each event are to be paid at the door, and each event will accommodate up to 20 participants.
