The Grand Opera House will welcome Tom Sawyer to Crowley on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. when The Birmingham Children’s Theatre presents a performance of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”

The production is part of the Grand’s Family Series, which is generously sponsored by Ted and Judy Carmichael and Family.

Based on the Mark Twain classic, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” highlights Tom’s escapades beginning with a whitewashed fence. His friend Huckleberry Finn joins the romp as well as the two play pirates in a treasure hunting episode. However, Tom is more than an adventurer. After a surprising funeral and a murder trial, Tom displays his bravery and moral heroism.

Established in 1947, the Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s mission is to educate, entertain and enrich the lives of children through the magic of professional theatre. Young audiences are introduced to high quality theatre productions. The touring division of Birmingham Children’s Theatre brings the magic of theatre to thousands of children and families across the country. Last year, Crowley families enjoyed their delightful version of “Sleeping Beauty.”

So bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighbor children and spend a wonderful evening at the Grand Opera House.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children twelve and under. For more information or to order tickets, stop by the Grand office, contact the Grand at 785-0440 or visit the website at thegrandoperahouse.org.
