Cast call for ‘The Bold, the Young and the Murdered’ April 28 - 30
The Acadia Players have announced a cast call for their upcoming production of “The Bold, the Young and the Murdered,” by Don Zolidis.
The play centers on the long-running soap opera “The Bold and the Young.” In its last days, the show’s hunky hero has self-esteem issues, its villainous old man is more interested in soup and its heroines are slightly psychopathic. The executive producer finally gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: Shoot one complete episode overnight or the show dies.
But when the director is murdered and the other cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like the threat might actually come true. The cast of misfits must discover the identity of the murderer before the show is literally killed off.
There are a total of 13 roles available - four male, five female and four of either gender.
Backstage and makeup crews are also needed.
No prior acting experience is necessary.
Auditions will be held Friday, April 28, through Sunday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the Acadia Parish Center for the Arts & Culture, 530 W. Mill St. in Crowley.
Rehearsal dates and times will be announced after casting.
Performances will be August 2, 16 and 23, and the play will be produced as a murder mystery dinner theater.
