Downtown Lafayette to debut ‘ArtStomp’

In celebration of local art, wine and music, the non-profit Downtown Lafayette Unlimited is bringing a new event to the heart of the city.

On Aug. 9, the “2nd Saturday ArtWalk” will become “ArtStomp at Parc Sans Souci” with grape-stomping, wine tasting and a pedestrian art festival including gallery exhibitions and street animation in the Downtown Lafayette Cultural District.

Admission is free and open to all ages. Wine tasting tickets are $45 if purchased prior to the event and $50 if purchased the day of the event. Tickets include tasting of over 20 wines, a one-of-a-kind painted wine glass and admission into the cooling tent located near the stage.

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include live performances by T.K. Hulin & Smoke at Parc Sans Souci, Wilson Savoy at the Times of Acadiana Bandstand and Diego Martin-Perez at Parc de Lafayette.

Fine artists and craftsmen are also invited to exhibit and sell their work by submitting an application before July 25. In particular, painting, sculpture, photography, fiber and mixed media works are being sought.
