Library sets new ‘Monday Night at the Movies’ line-up

The Acadia Parish Public Library in Crowley has announced its new “Monday Night at the Movies” line-up for January and February.

The movies, which will all begin at 6 p.m., will be shown as follows:

Jan. 27 - “Above Suspicion” (1943), 90 minutes, black and white. Professor Richard Myles (Fred Mac Murray) and his new bride Frances (Joan Crawford) are on more than a European honeymoon; they are also on a spying mission for British intelligence on the eve of World War II.

Feb. 3 - “Now, Voyager” (1942), 117 minutes, black and white. Bette Davis, Paul Henreid and Claude Rains star in this melodrama about a Boston spinster undergoing therapy, where she finds a remarkably impossible romance.

Feb. 10 - “Key Largo” (1948), 100 minutes, black and white. John Huston directs an all-star cast about gangster trouble at a hotel in Florida as a hurricane approaches. It stars Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson, Lionel Barrymore and Claire Trevor.

Feb. 17 - “Pal Joey” (1957), 111 minutes, color. This musical features Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak.

Feb. 24 - “Dial M for Murder” (1954), 105 minutes, color. This Alfred Hitchcock suspense thriller stars Ray Milland as an ex-tennis pro who carries out a plot to murder his wife (Grace Kelly). When things go wrong, he improvises plan B.

The movies will be hosted by Dr. C. Richard Bier.
