Sheryl Cormier plays the Liberty

This Saturday, March 15, the weekly “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Music Show at the Liberty Theater will feature the legendary Sheryl Cormier and Cajun Sound.

Cormier was the first Cajun female accordion recording artist to be inducted into the Acadian Museum’s Living Legends program, and she is sometimes referred to as “La Reine Cadjine” (the Cajun Queen). She was actually the first female artist to record Cajun music playing the accordion.

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” show is performed live every Saturday night at the historic Liberty Theater, 200 W. Park Ave. in Eunice, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Best described as the “Cajun Grand Ol’ Opry,” the family-friendly show features an emcee who hosts the show in Cajun French and a dance floor where people can dance to the music of Cajun bands performing live in the restored 1924 vaudeville house.

Tickets are $5 for general admission seating and go on sale at 4 p.m. at the ticket window of the Liberty Theater.
