Teen Acadia Players to present ‘Dr. Frankenstrudel’

The Teen Acadia Players will open their production of “Dr. Frankenstrudel’s Lemon-Fresh Laboratory of Horrors,” presented by special arrangement with Jeannette Jaquish beginning Friday, Oct. 25.

The play tells the tale of Alexis, who is the brightest student in her class, but when she gets a job as eccentric Dr. Frankenstrudel’s assistant, she needs all her wits to foil his evil plans for world domination.

While Dr. Frankenstrudel and Eyegore are working on their latest “creation,” they decide they need Alexis’ brain to complete the monster. Barely escaping their clutches, Alexis teams up with other children the doctor has captured to foil the plan and escape the laboratory.

The only things standing in their way are a zombie-ridden graveyard, the doctor’s first “creation,” and Eyegore at every turn. Will they make it out with their brains intact?

The show is being directed by P.E. Ronkartz and produced by Shawn Murphy. Sabrina Lynn is its student director.

The production will be put on at the Acadia Parish Center for the Arts & Culture on Mill St. in Crowley.

The show will run through Tuesday, Oct. 29, and show times are as follows:

– Oct. 25, 28–29: 6 p.m. and

– Oct. 26–27: 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Tickets may be purchased online at www.theacadiaplayers.com or at the door at the time of performance.
