The visiting queens tour Crowley City Hall

After lunch, the visiting queens got competitive and tested their rice knowledge in a game of “Jeopardy.” The winning team consisted of, from left, Strawberry Queen Gaby Palma, Louisiana Sugar Queen Mary Claire Simoneaux, Gonzales Jambalaya Queen Stevi Girouard, Orange Festival Queen Jade Duplessis, International Rice Festival Queen Sarah Mouton, Sicilian Festival Queen Amy Henderson, Buggy Festival Queen Kaylen Guillory, Frog Festival Queen Brittney Reed and Sorrento Boucherie Queen Lauren Blouin.

‘Rice and Easy’ day for visiting queens hosted by Mouton

For this year’s Queen’s Day, held Saturday, Sept. 21, 76th International Rice Festival Queen Sarah Mouton invited several visiting queens from across the state to Crowley, where they experienced a “Rice and Easy” afternoon. The girls enjoyed lunch at the LSU Rice Experiment Station before touring Falcon Rice Mill. Later in the afternoon Charlotte Jeffers took the queens on a tour of Crowley’s historic City Hall and then to the Rice Theater. The fun and educational day ended for Mouton and the visiting queens with getting ready for and attending the 2013 International Rice Festival Queen’s Ball and Honoree Cocktail held at the International Rice Festival Building. There, Mouton was honored by the Rice Festival for her dedication and participation throughout her reign.
