Broussard, Stutes exchange wedding vows

Couple to reside in Estherwood following trip to Riviera Maya, Cancun

Emily Ann Broussard and Michael Emile Stutes, both of Estherwood, were united in holy matrimony on the evening of Friday, June 17.
Fr. Mikel Polson of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and Fr. Randy Morrow of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.
The bride is the daughter of Julie and Scott Broussard of Estherwood. She is the granddaughter of Shirley and Anthony Collura of Hammond and the late Sylvia and Ernie Broussard of Estherwood. Emily graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2010 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting in 2014. She is employed by Wright, Moore, DeHart, Dupuis & Hutchinson, LLC, Certified Public Accountants.
The groom is the son of Roberta and Michael Stutes of Maxie. His maternal grandparents are the late Vivian and Robert LaBorde of Crowley, and his paternal grandparents are Mona Stutes and the late Donald Stutes of Branch. He is a 2008 graduate of Iota High School and a 2012 graduate of McNeese State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies. He is employed by Acadia Crawfish Co., LLC.
Escorted by her father, the bride entered the church to “Trumpet Voluntary.” She was gorgeous in an Alvina Valenta ivory and cashmere Chantilly lace gown with placed Alençon lace and shimmer throughout. The beautiful gown featured a sheer bateau neckline, cap sleeves and an illusion back.
Emily paired her gown with a lace-trimmed cathedral length veil.
She carried a lovely hand-tied bouquet of burgundy peonies, Naomi dahlias, blush dahlias, ranunculus, eucalyptus, white Astilbe, White O’Hara roses and pink stock.
Joselynn Cramer served as maid of honor and Mallory Champagne served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Broussard, Natalie John, Lannah Broussard, Vivian Stutes and Emily Stutes.
Amelia Gray, daughter of Aylie and Taylor Gray, served as junior bridesmaid, and the flower girl was Mary Reese Broussard, daughter of Lannah and Trent Broussard.
The groom selected Jack Thomas Hundley to serve as his best man. Standing as groomsmen were Heath Petry, Robert Caruso, Trevor Stoma, Trent Broussard, Billy Broach and Stewart Humble.
Trent David Broussard II, son of Lannah and Trent Broussard, served as junior groomsmen. Ring bearers were Cooper Broussard, son of Lannah and Trent Broussard, and Braxton Meagher, son of Brittany and David Meagher.
Ushers were Trey Broussard, Taylor Broussard, Kourtlin Benoit and Ryan Champagne.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Alberta Lyons and vocalist Jody Bollich.
Following the wedding party’s departure of the church to “Rondeau,” family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception complete with dinner and dancing at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn.
After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya and Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Estherwood.
