The Lafayette Petroleum Club was the setting on Saturday, March 1, 2014, for a wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Casey Lynn Amy of Lafayette, formerly of Rayne, and Shane Joseph Richard of Lafayette. The three o’clock ceremony was officiated by Rev. Bob Rayburn.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Mona Amy of Lafayette.  Her grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Leeward Junot and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Amy of Rayne. Casey is employed by Volunteers of America in Lafayette.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Elaine Bodoin and the late Richard Dale Richard of Lafayette. His grandparents were the late Edith Bodoin and Theard Bodoin, and Beverly Richard, married to the late Maxime Richard of Lafayette. He is employed by Manuel Builders of Lafayette.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a vintage Champagne wedding gown.  It featured  an all-over beaded lace trumpet design with an empire waist, v-neckline and capped sleeves. A plunging open back formed a deep-v towards a flowing cathedral-length train. She wore a hair piece including  an ivory embellished feather flower while carrying a bouquet of green and white hydrangea, white calla lilies, light pink gerber daisies and stems wrapped in ivory satin.

For something old the bride carried a handkerchief from the groom’s grandmother, and something borrowed was a brooch from her late grandmother.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her best friend, Tracey Jones. Maid of honor was the groom’s daughter, McCall Richard. Bridesmaid was Riley Anguiano, daughter of the groom. Each wore a vintage-styled dress of green taffeta with a short full skirt.

The flower girl, Isabella Gilbert wore an ivory taffeta dress with a green sash at the waist.

Attending the groom as best man was  his friend Kelly Taylor.  Groomsmen were Corey Amy, brother of the bride, and Randal Trahan, friend of the groom.

Serving as ring bearer was Logan Amy, nephew of the bride.

The couple was honored during a reception Immediately following the wedding ceremony.

The bride’s cake was a three-tier ivory buttercream cake with confectioners icing  decorated with small hydrangea clusters on each tier and topped with the letter, “R.”  The groom’s cake was a red velvet “tree stump” design with confectioners icing engraved with the couple’s initials.

After returning from their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
